The name given to a team of elite ninjas whose missions are usually dangerous and are assinged to them becuz they have special skills which fit the task. They're jobs can include anything from tracking, assassination, capturing, and gaurding people, healing, and protecting buildings. They usually wear animal-like masks to hide they're faces. Each mask appears to be different from one another. This is presumably so other fellow ANBU members can identify each other and no one else can.
